Putting Off Your Fitness Is Killing You

The thought pattern is familiar.

"I'm so busy"

"I don't have time to workout"

"I should work out but I want to get this done first."

"I'll just do it later."

It is reasoning like this that has led many people across the world to live a sedentary lifestyle. This sedentary lifestyle is a big part of why 2/3 of America is either overweight or obese and many are having problems with chronic disease such as heart disease and diabetes. Many other countries around the world have the same problem.

Physical exercise is a known helper in preventing and reversing overweight and obesity. It is also a preventative medicine for heart disease and diabetes. Doing some form of moderate to intense exercise most days of the week helps to build and maintain a fitness that will keep a better quality of life for longer.

So, putting off the exercise today or procrastinating on making fitness a habit in your life is literally killing you. You may not feel it now, but then again, no one feels the beginnings of a slow death right? You may feel fine now, but if you live a sedentary life, not caring about exercise or nutrition for the rest of your life, you will find yourself in a health crisis one day wishing that you had cared more.

Take a moment today to reassess your priorities. Reassess your schedule. Making a little time to prioritize your fitness today will help you be and feel healthier for tomorrow and the long run.
