First Let’s look at some of the key differences between these styles of training. Remember that the list below include ideas that are generally true, but are not rules that will happen 100% of the time.
As you can see there are quite a few differences between these training styles. On the podcast the importance of including both Functional training and bodybuilding was talked about. Bodybuilding can help you to achieve physique goals that you have by including Hypertrophy, to encourage muscle growth, and isolating muscle groups more directly. Including Functional training will usually help you to have better cardiovascular endurance and improved Flexibility to move well day to day. Including both of Bodybuilding and Functional training will help you to develop both strength and power. (Power is the ability to use your strength is a small burst of time and move an object quickly.)
